3 Simple Questions to Keep You Sane

This week I am suffering from a problem most entrepreneurs have –too little time and too much to do! (OK, you don’t have to be an entrepreneur to experience this.)

As I felt the overwhelm of many important and wonderful things on my plate grow I had to take a short break and create an internal stop or the spiral of pressure was going to become unbearable. Then I asked myself the questions I recommend you ask, each and every time you feel your anxiety or pressure mounting:

  1. What is the one most important thing that can happen this week to propel my business forward to achieve my goal(s)?
  2. What is the one most important thing that can happen this week to meet my need for connection with my family and friends?
  3. What is the one most important thing that can happen this week to meet my need for personal vitality and health?

Once armed with these answers, I ask myself, “What is the one thing I can do now/today to move me towards those three things happening?”

The answers to those questions help me to focus on what really matters and let the rest happen as time permits. My stress level goes back down and I answer other demands on my time with less guilt—at this moment, I need to focus on something else.

I hope these simple questions can help you keep the demons of stress and overload at bay. Those demons never serve you and absolutely never help you achieve your dreams.
